In the summer of 2015 I made a journey through the American West drawing and painting. I had three months total “on the road”, including a month at the Jentel Artists Residency, a week in the Big Horn Mountains, and two weeks in Colorado teaching at The Ah Haa School of Painting.
These drawings are records of this road trip, my awareness of time and movement through these spaces. Much of the work was done from the passenger’s (shotgun) seat of my Jeep. I would see something from the road, pull over for a few hours and do a drawing.
